Mercurial Autumn

Yellow, orange, red and brown

All the trees dye their crown
Vivid colours changing hues
Every day's mercurial views

April spring brings us flowers
October fall spreads out colours
To the south, the big birds flee
Shedding their nests in lollipop trees

Earlier evening, later morning
Winter's coming, its a warning
Butt of summer, chest of winter
Time to put some splinters to sinter

Crunchy carpet of browning leaves
is a trap for stealthy thieves
As the trees strip, to be naked
We start wearing, layers of jacket

The weather keeps chilling
and the leaves keep falling
and that is why, we should call
this fleeting, beautiful, season as fall

Cheers!
